Online therapy with psychologists in Málaga

Online therapy at Centro Elemental means psychotherapy sessions by video call with the same team and the same approach as at our practice in Málaga's Soho district. You can join from Spain or abroad, in Spanish, English or German. Each session lasts about an hour and costs €80, the same as in person; in English or German, €100.

What is online therapy and how is it different from in-person therapy?

Online therapy is psychotherapy carried out by video call: you and your psychologist see and talk to each other in real time, each from your own location. The channel changes, not the work. The approach, the length of the session and the price are the same as at the practice.

It may suit you if:

  • You live outside Málaga or in another country and want therapy in your own language.
  • Your schedule makes it difficult to travel.
  • You find it more comfortable to talk from your own space.
  • You already attend therapy in person and some weeks you cannot come.
  • You are looking for a specific member of the team who is not near you.

Online therapy is not the most suitable option in every situation. In the first session we can assess with you whether it is the best option or whether it is better to combine it with in-person sessions.

Which therapies can be done online?

The centre's psychological therapies can be done by video call or in person:

The psychiatry consultation with Blanca García Montañés is not listed as online in the booking calendar. If you are interested, ask us.

How does an online session work?

It works in much the same way as a session at the practice:

  • You book your appointment in the online booking calendar, via WhatsApp or by calling 629 359 443. You can also choose each professional's calendar from their profile.
  • We explain how to connect when you book.
  • You connect at the agreed time from a computer, tablet or mobile phone with a good connection.
  • You work together for about an hour, just as in an in-person session.

To make it more comfortable for you, we recommend finding a quiet place where no one will interrupt you and where you can speak freely, using headphones, and having some water and something to take notes with to hand.

Online therapy in English and German

If you live in Málaga and are not a Spanish speaker, or live outside Spain, you can have therapy in your own language with Lisa Marie Edelkraut, PhD in Psychology, psychotherapist and university lecturer, registration no. AO12129. She works in English and German, in person and online, with individuals and couples from Europe, the United States, Australia and South America, and has a particular interest in couples therapy.

Who will see you online?

The whole psychotherapy team works online. You can see each professional, their training and their areas of work on the team page:

If you already know who you want to work with, book directly in their calendar using the “Book an appointment” button on their profile. If you are not sure, tell us what is going on, where you will be connecting from and which language you prefer, and we will suggest the person who best fits you.

How much does it cost and how long does it take?

An online session costs the same as an in-person one: €80; in English or German with Lisa Marie Edelkraut, €100. Sport psychology with Miguel Blanes Arias costs €100. Each session lasts about an hour.

We are open Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 21:00, and on Saturdays, 09:00 to 14:00, mainland Spain time. If you are in another country, please bear the time difference in mind when booking.

Frequently asked questions about online therapy

Does online therapy work the same way as in-person therapy?

It is the same team, the same approach, the same length and the same price. In the first session we assess with you whether the online format is suitable for your situation or whether it is better to combine it with sessions at the practice.

Can I have online therapy from outside Spain?

Yes. We see people online from all over Spain and abroad. If you prefer English or German, Lisa Marie Edelkraut will see you.

Can I switch from online to in person, or the other way round?

Yes, you can combine both formats depending on what you need at each point. Talk it over with your psychologist.

What do I need to connect?

A computer, tablet or mobile phone with a camera, a microphone and a good internet connection, and a quiet place where you can talk in private. We explain how to connect when you book.

Do you handle emergencies by video call?

No. Centro Elemental is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in danger, call 112 or, in Spain, Línea 024. If you are in another country, contact your local emergency number.
