Mental health and the New Enlightenment

What this video is about

This short video puts forward a central idea about mental health: that a person’s quality of life, wellbeing or happiness has a great deal to do with the quality of their mental processes. In other words, with how they think and what kind of mental models they use to interpret what happens to them.

The argument offered is that nobody views reality, their own life or their day-to-day from scratch. As explained, we always start from certain positions, and we have prior theories and views through which we make sense of what happens to us. Hence the importance of paying attention to these ways of thinking, since they directly influence how we live and our psychological wellbeing.
